AAMA hosts Affordable Care Act Town Hall Meeting

Houston– AAMA to host Affordable Care Act Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, April 8 beginning at 5:30 p.m., in the AAMA auditorium, located at 6001 Gulf Freeway, Building E. The town hall meeting is open to the public and information will be available in English and Spanish.

 

The town hall meeting will cover the Affordable Care Act Special Enrollment Period and qualifications including: change in income or household status such as loss of coverage after a divorce or job loss, loss of other health insurance, gaining citizenship or lawful presence in the U.S., adopting or having a child, or getting married. With the special enrollment period open for tax season until April 30, experts will be on hand to answer questions about tax implications, enroll attendees into the Marketplace, and set up appointments.

 

The organizations providing the panel of experts include: City of Houston, AAMA, Medicaid/CHIP, Legacy Community Health Services, Houston Area Community Services (HACS), El Centro de Corazon, Harris Health Financial Assistance Program, Neighborhood Centers, and FIEL.

 

Following the town hall meeting, those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn more about the participating organizations at their information booths. Centro de Corazón and Catholic Charities will also have information booths at the event.
