Familia Adelante Training an Evidence-Based Prevention Approaches for the Hispanic and Latino Communities. Based program can be applied in a “universal” prevention setting or in a more targeted “selective” approach for youth at risk. Through the use of a psycho-educational approach, at-risk youth ages 10-14 and their families are provided with new techniques for identifying stress-or and risk factors, ultimately strengthening ties to important social institutions. Youth and parents are also offered HIV and sex education addressing the increasing rates of HIV among Hispanic families.
