Character is the foundation upon which one must build to win respect. Just as no worthy building can be erected on a weak foundation, so no lasting reputation worthy of respect can be built on a weak character.
AAMA's character is one that focuses on important choices that shape our future as an organization. These choices, such as commitment to our mission, an intrinsic value system, integrity, and being ever present is what will help us lead in our community. We must continue to build on our past and work hard towards the future. Positively dealing with the unexpected – looking for solutions, not excuses – is a conscious choice we must make. We must remember that success is not an event – it is a process that will have peaks and valleys along the way always in search of excellence and spending our energy looking for solutions to improve processes - chasing excellence!
Commitment teaches us that people who are successful have a passionate commitment to success and are willing to pay the price to achieve it. We must stay the course – choose to commit and to be team players. As our value system remain firm AAMA will be stronger because we have people that have strong values - focused on quality, service, and TEAM WORK.
Integrity is a profound choice – one that deals with being true to yourself. As Spencer Johnson puts it “Integrity is telling yourself the truth, and honesty is telling the truth to other people”. I think integrity goes hand in hand with values. We must be strong and be honest with ourselves as we commit towards the success in our lives and more personally this organization.
Take Care of yourself and each other…..

For over 46 Years AAMA continues to be a beacon of light – a place that is safe, educational, energetic, fun, and professional. A place like no other in Houston and the communities we serve. This unwavering spirit is one that inspires us to press forward through hardships and find our value and meaning in all that we do as an organization. For it is this inspiration that many times we stumble upon without intention. What we do every day at AAMA is beyond special – it is a calling - that we very much care about – that we deeply believe in.
AAMA is forever present in those lost in the journey, those who are feeling stuck, and those who simply need a dose of encouragement.
We have an immense potential at AAMA. The value of this potential leaves riches untapped. However, we must have a systematic approach and effectively implement ways to “execute” a plan with proficiency. In the coming months, we will implement a long-term comprehensive business and strategic plan that will help us stay grounded, focused, and exercise efficiencies to ensure long-term sustainability and ensure our success.
