Steven Vargas, Program Coordinator in MAP- HOPWA program was appointed to a four year term as one of five community members on the National Antiretroviral Guidelines Panel. The primary goal of the panel is to provide HIV medical care providers with recommendations based on current knowledge of antiretroviral used to treat people living with HIV. Steven has been placed on the teams responsible for reviewing the guidelines for older patients, people who use drugs, and those living with HIV and either Hepatitis C or B.  Steven serves on a number of boards and advisory councils in Texas and is committed to empowering our communinty.
