Counseling

Prevention and Counseling has been providing substance use disorder treatment services in Laredo at 1205 E. Hillside for years and has seen tremendous growth in the need for services due to the opioid epidemic.

AAMA has been the leader in Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) treatment and is the only licensed OTP program in Laredo. Medications for Opioid Use Disorder are evidence-based treatments that use FDA-approved medications to help manage opioid use disorder. These medications work by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms, making it easier for people to engage in recovery. MOUD is a crucial component of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes counseling and behavioral therapies. MOUD is the standard of care for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) due to its demonstrated effectiveness in treating this disorder and saving lives. MOUD is highly recommended for all individuals with OUD.
