For the 2020-2021 school year, AAMA will award scholarships on the basis of a comprehensive process.
Areas that are reviewed by the committee include, but are not limited to the following:

•Academic Accomplishments
•Community Service
•Recommendations
•Personal Essay and
•Financial Need

Yolanda Black Navarro Scholarship Fund shall pay the recipient’s school directly. The annual scholarship awards are divided into two disbursements on a semester basis as long as the student maintains a 2.5 GPA (C+ average) for the preceding semester. The Yolanda Black Navarro Scholarship is awarded without regard to race, color, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation. Scholarships are intended to be used for tuition, fees, books and on campus housing. Funds for off campus housing is not allowed. Scholarships awarded are based upon the availability of funds and additional qualifying criteria. The Yolanda Black Navarro Scholarship requires a commitment of volunteer hours to AAMA yearly prior to each semester disbursement. Scholarships are awarded annually provided funds are available.
