AAMA - Sanchez's College & Career Advisor provides resources for all students, as well as targeted support for those who need extra assistance exploring careers or navigating the college process.

College Readiness
Services and Resources offered throughout the academic year:

  • Administering interest inventories and career finder activities beginning in middle school using the Naviance program.  (naviance link)
  • Students will create SMART Goals each year to guide their exploration. A S.M.A.R.T. goal is defined as one that is specific, measurable, achievable, results-focused, and timebound.
  • Educating students on different career paths and assisting academic counselors in helping 8th graders select their HB5 Endorsement Plans.  (Sanchez Charter School offers three endorsements in STEM, Business and Industry, and Multi-Disciplinary).
  • Registering students for TSI, SAT, and ACT Testing and navigating CollegeBoard.  Students also have free test prep available to them through Naviance.
  • Assisting students in applying to colleges and universities through ApplyTexas
  • Assisting students in creating FAFSA ID's, filling out financial aid applications, including TASFA.
  • Informing students of upcoming scholarships and internship opportunities and utilizing fastweb
  • Facilitating parent meetings to assist with helping their child plan for college as well as financial aid workshops each semester.
  • Facilitating monthly field trips to colleges and universities.
